BOARD MEETING MINUTES
Community Building @ 7PM
March 20, 2019
Attending board members: Mandy Donovan, Sue Aldred, Barb Safiran, Ken Snyder, Sid Dev, Gene Costin and Mayor Dave Mueller.
Meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and roll call.
February 2019 Board Minutes approved, Motion Gene Costin 2nd Sid Dev, motion carried.
February 2019 Treasurer’s Report approved, Motion Barb Safiran, 2nd Mandy Donovan, motion carried.
March 2019 Expenditures approved, Motion Gene Costin, 2nd Sue Aldred, Roll call vote, all ayes.
Public Works – Gene Costin – Time to order salt for next winter. Gene Costin made a motion to order 75 ton from the Bureau County Hwy Dept, 2nd Sid Dev.
Police Emergency Plan – Mandy Donovan – Working on updated complaint list.
Community Events & Building Permits – Barb Safiran – No permits. Starting to work on Picnic Day. Picnic Day is June 8, 2019.
Finance, Insurance, License & Fees – Ken Snyder – Easter Egg hunt is April 20, 2019 at the grade school. Asking for donations and help. Contact Ken Snyder.
Ordinances and Garbage Collection – Sue Aldred – Dan is having some health issues. We need have a sub for Dan in case he is unable to help with the garbage.
Water and Sewer – Sid Dev – Marcus Chapman – A well went out. Replacing motor, pump, wire, pipe. Pipe will be in Friday. EPA visit went well. Everything is ok.
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG Grant) – Sending a letter to the owner of 2112 N 1st Street. If they aren’t going to do any improvements then we will tear it down while we still have the grant.
Intergovernmental Agreement – Dave will be speaking to Neponset Township to go over the agreement.
Sale of Property/closing of W Center Street – Waiting on paperwork form lawyer
Grants – originally, we were starting on the north side of town, but NCICG has decided to sent out letters to the entire town. They will be sending a letter to each resident. Each household can get up to $45,000.
116 Maple Street – the bank will not be fixing up this house. The insurance company will be taking the water bill out of the insurance payment to pay us the delinquent water bill.
When they are done with filling in the dips in the Township roads, they will be working on the Village’s.
We will be sending letters to get over due water bill accounts to give 6 weeks to get current.
Vicki Bennett is painting the Village Hall office. Trent Johnson is doing the repairs.
Dirt for Shirley’s will come from cleaning out Township ditches. It then needs to be leveled off.
