Community Building
March 15, 2023
Attending board members: Barb Safiran, Matt Benecke, Mandy Donovan, and Mayor Dave Mueller. Absent Sue Aldred, Sid Dev, and Julius Maes.
Meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and roll call.
January Board Minutes, January Treasurers’ Report, and February Invoices payable
Motion to approve Barb Safiran, 2nd Mandy Donovan, roll call vote all ayes.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Water and Sewer – Sid Dev/Markus Chapman – No news on the liner repair.
Community Events & Building Permits – Barb Safiran –No Permits. Trivia Night brought in $1,034. We are ready for the Easter Egg Hunt.
Ordinances and Garbage Collection – Sue Aldred –. Nothing to report.
Police, Emergency Plan – Mandy Donovan – Looking into police cameras.
Streets – Matt Benecke – Ordering salt for next winter.
Village Equipment – Julius Maes – Looking for a replacement plow for the plow truck.
Finance, Insurance, License & Fees – Dave Mueller – Monthly budget discussion.
MAYOR’S REPORT
Shelter in the Park – Account balance $33,449.97
Nextlink Contract – New Net Wave signed the contract. Waiting on Nextlink.
Animal Ordinance- will be ready next month.
Electronic Sign – We will install it in the spring.
Housing Rehab Round 2 – The next step of the grant will be in a couple of months. Residents will be notified.
IDNR Grant – We will receive $ 596,821 for Improvements to Scott Park, including the installation of a pavilion, restroom, drinking fountain, parking, pickleball court, sidewalk, and shelter/bandstand renovations. This is a 2-year project starting in 2023.
Clean-Up Days – Thursday, April 13, 2023.
