BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Community Building

October 20, 2021

 

Attending board members: Barb Safiran, Sue Aldred, Mandy Donovan, Sid Dev, Julius Maes, Matt Benecke, and Mayor Dave Mueller.

 

Meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and roll call.

 

Guests: Brian Jorris, IMLRMA Insurance, and Chris Greer, Diamond Bros, Insurance. Discussion on Insurance coverage quotes.

 

September Board Minutes, September Treasurers’ Report, and October Invoices payable

Motion to approve Barb Safiran, 2nd Matt Benecke, roll call vote all ayes.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Water and Sewer – Sid Dev/Markus Chapman – Discussion on internet contract and tower access. 24 hours notification must be made before needing water tower access.

Community Events & Building Permits – Barb Safiran – 1 permit. Working on Halloween windows and trunk or treat.

Ordinances and Garbage Collection – Sue Aldred – still issues with garbage truck repair.

Police, Emergency Plan – Mandy Donovan – Reports of loose dogs. All dogs must be registered with the Village. If you need a policeman, please call 911.

Streets – Matt Benecke – Nothing to report.

Village Equipment – Julius Maes – The garbage truck needs to be serviced at Elliott Equipment. It also needs detailed. The Exmark mower needs an engine, but none are available currently. Sid Dev made a motion to accept the quote of $3,400. 2nd Barb Safiran, roll call vote, all ayes.

Finance, Insurance, License & Fees – Dave Mueller – Discussion on the monthly budget report. The accounts are in good shape.

MAYOR’S REPORT

Insurance – Sid Dev made a motion to accept the bid from IMLRMA Insurance and to add $1,000 prior coverage, the current policy is due December 1, 2021. 2nd Matt Benecke, roll call vote, all ayes.

Housing Grant – the last four (4) homes will be underway soon.

Neponset Park Improvement – Account balance is approximately $29,000. The golf outing brought in $2,000. Received $1,100 in donations. Paint with Mrs. Blake, Paint for Veterans will be Sunday, October 24th at the Community Building at 12:00.

Liquor Licenses – Working on this ordinance.

Camper Ordinance – Working on this ordinance.

Nextlink Contract – Working on the contract.

Culverts – Sid Dev made a motion to pay Dan Stetson $850 for the culverts, 2nd Julius Maes, roll call vote, all ayes.

Ordinance 770 – Confidentiality Ordinance – Barb Safiran made a motion to accept the Confidentiality Ordinance #770, 2nd Mandy Donovan, roll call vote, all ayes.

Rebild Main Street Grant – Working on getting this grant to help with new curbing, sidewalks, replacing old street lights, adding 24x36 addition to the back of Community building for a new Village Hall. Mandy Donovan made a motion to proceed with Rebuild Main Street, 2nd Barb Safiran, motion carried.
